ALM Speech Therapy
Speech and Language Therapy Services
I recognize the importance of child-centered speech-language therapy, which inspires me to create strong and long-lasting bonds with each of my clients. It’s a privilege to serve the community of Yorktown Heights and surrounding neighborhoods by providing speech-language therapy through evidence-based practices to promote success. My favorite part of my job is helping children find their voice in the world.

Who I Am
Amy L. Mentrasti CScD, CCC-SLP
Owner/ Founder
I’ve been a Speech-Language Pathologist practicing for 12 years. I’m a highly trained, board-certified SLP who can provide an array of comprehensive services and interventions within my field. I attended Mercy College, where I completed my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Communication Disorders. In addition to routinely attending continuing education courses, I also earned a clinical doctorate degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I am certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed to practice in New York State. I hold additional training and certifications in oral motor massage, PROMPT, Hanen, and FEES. I am also a mom to 3 incredible boys.

Speech & Language Services
As a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist, I aim to offer excellent intervention in order to meet my client’s needs. I’m highly committed to offering high quality speech and language therapy services. It’s taken me years of hard work to get where I am today, to the point where I can say your child is in good hands. I offer Speech Therapy On-The-Go, which means that I conduct the treatment session in your home, which is the natural environment for your child.

Speech Articulation Therapy
Speech Sound Disorders
Through this and other endeavors, I’ve helped numerous children throughout my career as a Speech-Language Pathologist. To me, nothing matters more than helping your child communicate, which is why I’ve put in so much time and effort into advancing my practice and techniques. One of my greatest passions is helping children overcome speech sound disorders. Please get in touch to schedule an initial consultation.
Language Therapy
Receptive and Expressive Language Delays
Through a holistic approach to language therapy, I try viewing each child as a whole rather than a single symptom to be treated. This is just one of many procedures I perform when coming up with a treatment plan. Your child deserves proper care and attention and I’m able to provide it. The best part of what I do is helping children learn how to communicate with their parents, family, friends, and teachers. Please contact me today to schedule an appointment.

FAQs
You’ve Got Questions - I’ve Got Answers
Where will the sessions be held?
Speech and language therapy for children is best in the natural environment (research has proven this). This allows for family members to be present to learn the strategies used during the session. It also permits the use of toys and games from the child's home so that learning can continue after the session is over. Speech therapy "on the go" means I do the traveling so you can take advantage of the time you gain by not having to run the kids to, yet another, appointment. Sessions can be held at your house, the child's daycare, or aftercare placement (with permission).
What is the cost per session?
I have spent over a decade working with children. My expertise and successful techniques have helped many children achieve their goals. Please contact to discuss fees regarding speech therapy sessions. Rates may be pro-rated for 30- or 45-minute sessions.
Can my child be seen through Early Intervention by ALM Speech Therapy PLLC?
I have tremendous experience with the birth-to-three population (and love them dearl). I am happy to announce that I am an approved Early Intervention provider.
Will my insurance cover the visit?
Yes! ALM Speech Therapy accepts insurance. Call to discuss how your insurance plan can cover speech-language therapy services.
